Ben Ramsden is an award winning London-based, Yorkshire-born composer/musician. He composes pieces that sit at a crossroads between different genres, creating a larger, more inclusive middle.

Equally interested in classical and popular music, he's developed a unique sound world that has allowed him the opportunity to have premieres all across Europe, including London’s Southbank Centre, Lyric Hammersmith, Vault Festival, Edinburgh Fringe and performances throughout the continent. He has been featured on BBC News about his album for string quartet and electronics, To Care.

Ben frequently collaborates with other disciplines, including theatre, film and dance. After working closely with National Youth Theatre on multiple productions, Ben became an Associate Artist. He is also a composer in residence for KORDA and Igni Sound.

Ben studied composition at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance under Errollyn Wallen and Stephen Montague. His final piece was nominated for The Gold Medal, receiving The Director's Award for achievement for this accolade. He currently holds a teaching post at Blackheath Conservatoire, alongside a lucrative freelance career as a working composer and performer.
